Having spent the last 12 years as part of a very select collection in the Channel Islands, this beautiful Mercedes-Benz 280 SL ‘Pagoda’ has been enjoyed sparingly during that time, covering a mere 1600 dry miles since 2013.
Acquired in 2013 from a well-repected SL specialist in the UK, this example was deemed to be one of the very best available. Yet, since then, notwithstanding the minimal mileage covered, in excess of a further £60,000 has been expended on further restorative works and on the maintenance of its exemplary condition.
Factory fitted with the optional and desirable power steering, the car is finished in its original colour scheme of White (050) over deep red interior, which from new featured the expensive option of leather trim throughout, details all confirmed by the copy of the Mercedes-Benz data card in the history file, which further confirms that the car retains its original engine.
Presented in enviable condition, the car is supplied with its original books, history file detailing works carried out, a hardback book photographically documenting restoration work, original toolkit and detachable hardtop. A fresh, advisory-free MoT certificate has recently been obtained.
