MASERATI 3500 GT, 1960

First registered on 14th April 1960, ‘780 PBP’ is one of just 40 RHD examples built, with a reputed 24 of those supplied to the UK. The original logbook confirms that the car still wears its original UK registration number and that it is still fitted with its original, matching numbers, engine.

Supplied new to one Francis Hubert Reaks, who retained ownership until November 1970, the Maserati then passed to its second owner in Yorkshire. Passing via a dealer in the late 1970s to its third owner, the car was subsequently acquired by the gentleman who then kept the car until now, a period of some 25 years. The majority of that time has been spent in careful storage.

During that time, however, the 3500 has been treated to a comprehensive bodywork renovation, being stripped to its bare aluminium prior to the subsequent repaint. The engine has, likewise, been comprehensively rebuilt and a full mechanical overhaul also carried out. In fact, the only area not to have received attention is the interior, which remains original and boasts the original leather trim, and even headlining, throughout.

A clear opportunity to acquire an exceptionally rare right hand drive example of a classic race-bred Maserati, crucially still boasting matching numbers.
