Only 559 575M Superamericas were ever built. Of these, just 7 were RHD cars fitted with the manual transmission and only 5 of these 7 were sold new in the UK. This is one of those 5 cars: a preciously rare example, classically finished in Rosso Corsa with Crema hides and Bordeaux carpets to the interior, and exhibiting a very modest 9,400 miles only, from new.
The reasons for the desirability of these cars is obvious: rarity, highly innovative design and a pleasure behind the wheel which sadly started to diminish with the coming of a more digital era. The tour de force that is the 575M Superamerica might be considered the last of the predominantly analogue V12 Ferraris and an eminently fitting end to that lineage.
That said, not all Superamericas were born equal. Most buyers opted for the then fashionable F1 gearbox with literally just a handful of UK buyers appreciating that the more engaging experience was to be enjoyed with the traditional mechanical gated manual transmission; resulting in the 5 cars which were sold new in the UK.
Supplied new by Stratstone Manchester and registered on 9th September 2005 to its first owner, who between 2005 and 2009 covered a mere 800 miles, this Superamerica was sold again by the original supplying dealership in 2009 to its second owner, in whose care the mileage increased to 9,400 miles.
Maintained diligently throughout its life, with separate detailed invoices supporting all of the stamps in the service book, a service is now due on time rather than mileage (the car was the subject of a full cam belt service 1,000 miles ago by a Ferrari Main Agent) and this will be included in the sale at the purchaser’s choice of Ferrari Agent, ensuring this Superamerica will be ready to be enjoyed by its new custodian.
Presented now in superlative, highly original condition - flawless, perhaps - and complete with all its original books in their Schedoni leather folder, unused tools in their leather case, Ferrari compressor, indoor car cover, tailored mohair cover for the retracted glass roof in its bespoke leather case, and duplicate keys and immobiliser fobs - in fact everything the car was ever supplied with from the Factory - this is self-evidently one of the rarest of opportunities.
