Study 14 – Future of the children of Abraham – Part 2
Study 14 – Future of the children of Abraham – Part 2
This final talk follows on from study 13 and helps us to understand Revelation 12 and 13. It shows how the same parallel events described in the gospels are described in a more symbolic way in Revelation 12 and 13 but that the events are the same. The concluding message of this study on the children of Abraham is that our part is to preach the gospel to all nations and to beware of being deceived by false Messiahs. If we are faithful in this then God’s purpose to unite the children of Abraham under the true Messiah will be fulfilled. If we are unfaithful then others will have the privilege of seeing this purpose fulfilled.

Study 13 – Future of the children of Abraham – Part 1
Study 13 – Future of the children of Abraham – Part 1
This study and the next are the concluding ones in the series. They look at the teaching about the return of the Messiah. In this first talk the main passages are the teaching of Jesus recorded in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 17 and 21. A chart at the end helps us to understand these teaching as revealing a number of issues dealt with by Jesus. These unfold chronologically in parallel and stretch from the New Testament days until the return of Jesus. His teaching shows the ultimately convergent destinies of the children of Abraham in the Messianic Kingdom.

Study 12 - Firstfruits
Study 12 - Firstfruits
This was the second of my Easter talks to Turku Free Church and was given on Easter Sunday 2010. It continues from Study 11 and shows that the third Jewish feast that is fulfilled at Easter is the Feast of Firstfruits. It then takes us through the scriptures from the resurrection of Jesus to the very beginning of eternity when the Father comes to earth. This shows the climax of what we know of God’s purpose, far beyond the time of the Messianic Kingdom described in earlier talks.

Study 11 – Why did Jesus die exactly at Easter time?
Study 11 – Why did Jesus die exactly at Easter time?
This talk and the next were given Turku Free Church at Easter 2010. This first talk was on the Wednesday of Easter week. It continues the theme of the group study on Jewish roots and shows that to better understand the significance of the death of Jesus we need to understand the Jewish feasts in this case especially Passover and Unleavened Bread. I also share my questions about whether the traditional idea that Jesus died on Friday fits best with the gospel records. The subject of Jewish feasts continues in Study 12.

Study 10 – Jewish roots
Study 10 – Jewish roots
This study outlines some of the consequences for the Church of its loss of connection with its Jewish roots and its rooting in Greek and philosophy instead. It is a plea to get back to understand our Jewish (or more correctly Hebraic) roots.
